The Patisserie Box are very pleased to have been awarded the SALSA Seal of Approval.
The SALSA Standard
The SALSA standard was written by experienced food safety experts to reflect both the legal requirements of producers and the enhanced expectations of ‘best practice’ of professional food buyers. Approval certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to a SALSA auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.
The Patisserie Box’s co founder Xavier Pelloux said “We are really excited to have met the SALSA standard. This is a big deal for us.”
SALSA is a food safety certification scheme for small and micro food producers who are:
- Looking to supply food retailers and buyers on a local or regional level
- Seeking a widely recognised food certification which demonstrates they are producing products in safe and legal manner
- Interested in guidance and support to develop a food safety management system specific to their business
- Looking to gain confidence and support for approaching national and regional food buyers
The SALSA scheme’s wide acceptance by retailers and food service providers has assisted in SALSA becoming the food safety scheme for producers with big ambition.
SALSA has been set up by and for the industry as a low cost, sustainable not-for-profit scheme to help local producers meet the standards buyers demand and give you the confidence to trade with them and effectively implement your local and regional sourcing targets.
